Children’s Eye Examination

Trust your child’s health to an experienced family-friendly eye care centre

Visiting the optician can be a daunting experience for a child, which is why we do all we can to make sure the experience for our young patients is as friendly and positive as possible.

Getting your child high quality eye care is absolutely essential. Eyesight develops rapidly during the first seven years of a child’s life, during which time many issues can be resolved completely. However, many conditions can be corrected but not cured if they are not identified before the age of seven. This means regular high quality eye exams are crucial throughout your son or daughter’s formative years. Regular eye exams for your child will also help them to carry on this habit into adolescence and adulthood.

260If your child does need corrective lenses, you will find a wide selection of frames made especially for children. Alternatively, The Eye Studio has had a great deal of success over the years prescribing children with contact lenses. Paediatric Ortho-K is also an option more and more parents are choosing for their children.

Best of all, your child’s eye care will not cost you a penny. The NHS fully funds all eye exams for children up to the age of sixteen, or up to nineteen if they remain in full time education. Many children’s frames are also partially or fully paid for by the NHS.
